I have been teaching against the soul mate’s doctrine for many years. The Scriptures clearly teach us that we are to daily choose to love our mates, not compelled by some hidden deep overwhelming feeling…because we all know that life changes on a regular basis. This failure to choose to love your mate is one of the main problems I have ran across in my many years of marital counseling. I still love my wife, cherished her, and provided for her which goes beyond any compatibility and feelings which many from our “modern” culture counsel…I choose to love her.
